The All-Slovenian fair
The All-Slovenian fair Autumn 2018 will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday between October 5th and 7nd in Šentvid near Stična, more precisely in the vicinity of »Gostilna pri Japu.« Opening hours will be from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM and later on enjoyed by free concerts until early morning hours.
The fair renews the tradition from year 1140 when Šentvid pri Stični had three fairs a year. Despite the fact that in 1360 the Austrian duke Rudolf Habsburg banned fairs and that in 1478 the emperor issued a patent removing all three fairs in Šentvid, the people of Šentvid did not give up and the fairs in Šentvid near Stična were held until the Second World War.
All-Slovenian fair is a general fair that covers a wide range of activities, including agriculture, machinery, home crafts, motorcycling, cycling, domestic use, sports, weddings, crafts, construction, automotive, tourism, trade, leisure and more – even local municipalities are present there.
By all means, the All-Slovenian fair is a family friendly fair since every day from 2 PM to 5 PM animators will take care of the youngest participants. Playground activities and gaming animation will teach children about animals, horse riding etc.
The fair is free for all visitors and their vehicles. There will be live music program in the event area (600 square meters) with famous Slovenian musicians performing during the day and in the evening. On the opening day the fair will be dedicated entirely to the ministries, the presentation of municipalities, speeches of mayors, representatives of municipalities, presentations of companies and their partners. During the breaks Slovenian musicians will take care of the musical atmosphere.
